Most people come to Mid Wales for the peace and quiet. Others may feel the distant call of a red kite carried softly on the breeze isn’t quite enough of a soundtrack.

They prefer the stomach-churning, ear-shattering roar of a rally car being driven on the limit. Which is why you’ll find them congregating in our forests every November.

Wales Rally GB is the biggest and best motor rally in Britain. And it wouldn’t be what it is without the long sweeping corners, watersplashes, jumps and hairpin bends of the Dyfi, Hafren and Radnor forests.

It’s the ultimate test of courage and composure. So naturally, once you’ve seen this unforgettable spectacle, you’d probably like to have a go for yourself. Live the dream at the Phil Price Rally School at Llangunllo or the Higgins Rally School at Carno.

They both have their own forest tracks to hurtle down. They both have rally-prepared cars (in other words they go very, very fast). They’re both run by real rally drivers.

And they’ll both teach you classic Scandinavian-style loose surface rally driving with pendulums, power slides and handbrake turns.

Not only will it be excitingly noisy. It will make the school run seem very mundane.
