Rhayader

Location
Rhayader is at the junction of the A44 and the A470, about 13 miles north of Builth Wells and 16 miles west of Llandrindod Wells. The nearest train station is at Llandrindod Wells on the Heart of Wales line between Shrewsbury and Swansea. There are regular buses to Builth Wells, Llanidloes, Welshpool and the Elan Valley.

Rhayader is the oldest town in Mid Wales, dating back to the fifth century. This might be due to its location at a natural crossroads between north and south, east and west. But it might also have something to do with the beauty of its setting.
