Start from the Groe car park from where you can see the magnificent 6 arch bridge across the Wye (Pic 1). Follow the river upstream along the tree lined avenue named Abram’s Folly, past the children’s play area, tennis courts and putting green until you reach the confluence of the rivers Wye and Irfon at Aber Pool. Bear left and follow the Irfon around to the Suspension Bridge (Pic 2).

Cross the bridge and turn left following the lane past the Golf Club on your right. Continue over a small bridge and along the road until you reach the main road, turn left here and cross the Irfon Bridge. After the bridge take an immediate left turn through a kissing gate, down the flight of steps to the river path. Follow the Irfon back downstream towards the Suspension Bridge. From here either re-trace your steps to the car park or turn right up Love Lane past the football ground and continue to follow the road baring left back to the town.
