Gwerniago
Gwerniago campsite is located in the heartland of Mid Wales, at the most southern point of the Snowdonia National Park. Gwerniago is a family run working farm run by a Welsh speaking family. The campsite is situated on the edge of Pennal village in the beautiful unspoilt Dyfi (Dovey) Valley.
The area is ideally suited for bird watching and walking. Red Kites can regularly be seen overhead and the Dyfi Osprey nest is visible from the campsite with a good pair of binoculars. Nearby is the RSPB nature reserve at Ynyshir which offers escorted tours to enjoy the vast array of wildlife in the area. The Dyfi Osprey official viewing point is only 15 minutes' drive away and you can visit the hide used in the BBC Spring Watch series.
The campsite is popular with walkers, cyclists and families. The site affords elevated views across the beautiful unspoilt Dyfi Valley, woodland, and nearby riverside walks, The campsite was voted in the top five by the children in the book, 'Cool Camping Kids' . Young children can enjoy a pony ride by the farmhouse in the evenings and may help feed the young lambs during the lambing season. Campfires are allowed.
