Wellbeing in Powys

Adventure has its place...

but sometimes you just want to take it easy and in Mid Wales we have everything to allow you to do nothing except restore your equilibrium.

As well as mountains, lakes and forests Mid Wales boasts more than 30 parks and gardens - some grand, some intimate - that delight the eye and calm the soul.

  • Stroll the pleasure gardens of soprano Adeline Patti at Craig-y-Nos Country Park.

  • Wander the world famous Powis Castle garden, overhung with clipped yews, which shelter rare and tender plants, laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles. It retains its original lead statues and an orangery on the terraces.

  • Gasp at the gardens of Gregynog Hall near Newtown which don't simply complement a wonderful landscape, they are the landscape. All 750 acres of it, complete with ancient woodland, lily lake, sunken lawns and a secluded cottage.
