Heart of Wales 7s Dates: July 5-7, 2024
Originally known as the Creative Rugby 7s, the Heart of Wales 7s Festival was born out of the desire to bring a premier party and playing experience to all of Wales. Since its inception in 2015, the festival has grown significantly, adding new sports and entertainment options each year. 2024 promises to be the biggest and best yet, with an array of exciting new additions:
Highlights: • Sevens rugby tournaments for men and women, including elite categories. • Mixed Touch rugby, Mixed Ability rugby, and the Welsh Tug of War Championships. • Newly added sports: Rounders, Darts, and the return of Hockey. • Music festival with a diverse lineup (details available on socials and the festival website). • Special attractions: Jump Dogs Parachute Display team, and a Hall of Fame.
Location: Llanidloes
Tickets: Final tickets remaining, available on the Heart of Wales 7s website.
Llanidloes’s location almost dead-centre in Wales accounts for much of its character. It’s a crossroads town straddling lush, rounded border country and mountainous ‘Wild Wales’ with a rural – and surprisingly industrial – heritage. This mix of influences is apparent in its architecture, which ranges from black-and-white half-timber (a classic borderland look) to ornate Victorian.
